Worth Knowing

Psylock is not only sensitive to the profoundly dynamic characteristics of a person's keystroke behaviour; it also picks up on underlying characteristics that are not dependent on one's typing production on any given day. The system collects numerous individual characteristics such as left- or right-handedness, typical typing errors and error correction patterns, and assesses these on a person-specific basis. In this way, one's typing performance on any given day does not play a significant role.
-
-
This is not the end of the world. Typing errors and error correction patterns belong to an individual's make-up. Typos should not become rampant, however, as too many of them interrupt the flow of writing. In any event, the text to be entered consists only of one sentence and typing errors impact rather on one's normal typing behaviour.

Yes, Psylock is suitable for every kind of typist.

-
Interruptions of or distractions from (on the phone while typing) the composition of a text alter one's keystroke behaviour. This is the reason why one should enter in one's text in a concentrated and uninterrupted manner (put the receiver down for a moment or let the telephone ring until you have finished entering your text).

Psylock's technical maturity is the fruit of fourteen years of development and rigorous testing. In comparison with other biometric authentication procedures, Psylock joins those at the very top of the field when it comes to security and usability.
- Your keystroke behaviour is just as unique and just as unalterably connected to your person as your fingerprint or signature. You are always going to have your keystroke behaviour "to hand". You cannot forget the way you type or leave it lying around on a piece of paper. Nobody can copy it, steal it or imitate it.
- Psylock reliably identifies forgery and attempts at fraud.
- The security level can be set from low to very high by changing numerous parameters, making Psylock suitable for security-sensitive areas such as R&D.
- As the programme is constantly learning, identification performance increases with every login.
- You do not have to keep the typed sentence a secret as your "typing signature" cannot be forged.
-
-
Since Psylock is a pure software solution, i.e. there is no need for hardware (sensors), drivers, etc., the only costs that accrue are for implementation and licence-use. In contrast to hardware-based solutions, no costs ensue from hardware maintenance.

Minor injuries play no role at all. In some cases, you may initially have to type the login sentence twice until the system has adjusted to your slightly altered keystroke behaviour. If the handicap is greater, you will have to re-sit the training session (enrolment) with the injured hand. As your hand begins to mend, the system, through its ability to learn, will also "mend". If the handicap is so severe that you can only type with great difficulty, you can always uninstall Psylock for the length of time it takes the injury to heal and replace it with a password.
-
-
Adjusting to the changes in your typing habits, Psylock learns with every further login. In the case of abrupt changes, the same applies as for hand injuries.
-
-
The training phase, or what we call "enrolment", entails typing the assigned login text nine times. This one-time training session only takes a few minutes, after which Psylock is fully operational.
-
-
Included in the Psylock technology is a fully developed protection mechanism against replay attacks, which recognizes both manipulated and recorded samples and rejects these in the authentication process.

Changing keyboards is not a problem. If the keyboards are extremely different from each other, you can create a separate hardware profile for each keyboard.
